Episodes, without a storefront
Your shows live on your own server, which does the fetching. Lindale shows what has arrived, marks what you have heard, and plays it. Next to your albums and your books, instead of in a separate app with its own opinions.

The server does the fetching
Your subscriptions and your download schedule live on the server, so there is no second list to keep in step and nothing leaves your network to find out what you listen to. Lindale plays what is already there.
Shows, then episodes
A wall of show artwork, newest arrivals first if you like. Open one and the episodes are a list, with dates, lengths and descriptions that stay readable instead of being cut to one line.
What is new is obvious
Unplayed episodes are marked, part-heard ones show how far you got, and finished ones step back without vanishing, so a show you dip into does not become a puzzle.
Nothing recommended at you
No charts, no “because you listened to”, no autoplay carrying you into something adjacent. You came for an episode, so that is the screen you get.
Listening
Played, and stays played
Progress and finished episodes go back to the server, so the show you left half-heard on the phone is half-heard on the Mac too, and the television knows it as well.
The long ones behave
A three-hour episode starts as soon as the beginning has arrived, remembers where you were, and picks up there. Same engine that carries the music.
Speed and skips
Faster without the chipmunks, and a skip that jumps a chunk rather than a track. Set per show, because an interview is not a documentary.
It stops instead of improvising
Headphones out, speaker gone, call coming in. It pauses, and keeps your place. Plus a sleep timer for the ones you listen to horizontally.
What is not there
What a podcast listener might reasonably expect and not find:
- Subscribing to a feed happens on the server, not in the app
- Audiobookshelf is the only provider so far, so no separate RSS subscriptions inside Lindale, and no other podcast services yet
- No chapter markers or ad skipping
- No keeping an episode for a flight on purpose. The cache does what it can
- No CarPlay, so the car is still Apple’s territory
Requirements
- macOS 26, iOS 26, iPadOS 26 or tvOS 26, or later
- A server that holds your podcasts, reachable over HTTPS. Audiobookshelf today
- Same rules as any source: no plain HTTP, self-signed certificates fine, password in the Keychain
