Privacy Policy

Last updated 23 July 2026

Lindale is designed so your listening stays private. The developer does not receive your music library, listening history, server credentials or playback activity. The app contains no advertising, analytics or tracking SDKs. To provide the features you choose, Lindale communicates with the music servers you configure and with Apple Music and private iCloud services when you enable them.

1 Who this policy covers

This policy applies to the Lindale app for macOS, iOS and iPadOS and to the website at lindale.app.

Lindale is developed and operated by Tristan Siebers, an independent developer (“the developer”). Questions can be sent to hello@lindale.app. In this policy, “you” refers to the person using Lindale or visiting its website.

2 Information the developer receives

The developer does not operate Lindale accounts or application servers. Lindale does not send the developer your library, listening history, playback activity, server addresses, server credentials or synced app data.

If you contact the developer by email, the developer receives your email address, the contents of your message and anything you choose to attach. That information is used only to answer your message, provide support and handle any necessary follow-up. Correspondence is kept only for as long as reasonably necessary for those purposes or as required by law.

This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics, advertising or tracking scripts. The infrastructure providers that deliver the website and email may process limited technical information, such as IP addresses, request details and delivery logs, to operate, secure and protect their services. The developer does not use that information to track or profile visitors.

3 Information the app stores

Lindale stores a limited amount of information so it can provide its features:

4 Connections the app makes

Lindale connects only to services needed for the features you choose:

Lindale does not directly contact Last.fm, ListenBrainz or any analytics, advertising or tracking service. If your music server forwards play counts or other information to another service, that is controlled by your server and its configuration, not by Lindale.

5 Apple Music and iCloud

If you connect Apple Music, Lindale asks for permission to access your Apple Music library. Apple processes that access through MusicKit and its playback services. An active Apple Music subscription may be required for some content. You can withdraw Lindale’s Apple Music permission at any time through your device’s system settings.

When Lindale stores data in iCloud, Apple processes and stores that data under your Apple Account. Data kept in your private iCloud (CloudKit) database counts towards your iCloud storage. This data is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy.

6 Retention and deletion

Removing Lindale from a device therefore does not necessarily remove related Keychain or iCloud data. The developer cannot inspect or delete data held in your private Keychain, on your music servers or in your private iCloud database on your behalf.

You may ask the developer to delete email correspondence or other personal information held by the developer by contacting hello@lindale.app, subject to any information that must be retained for legal or security reasons.

7 No analytics, advertising or tracking

Lindale contains no third-party analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs or tracking SDKs. The app does not report to the developer what you browse or play, and the developer does not sell or share your personal information for advertising.

8 Children

Lindale is not directed specifically at children. The developer does not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app. If you believe a child has sent the developer personal information by email, get in touch so it can be deleted where appropriate.

9 Your choices and rights

You can disconnect a music server, withdraw Apple Music permission, clear local caches and manage Lindale’s private iCloud data using the controls described above.

Depending on where you live, you may also have rights over personal information held by the developer, including rights to access, correct or delete it, restrict or object to its use, or complain to your local data protection authority. Because the developer does not receive data from the app, these requests will normally apply only to correspondence you have sent or limited website information available to the developer.

10 Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when Lindale’s features or data practices change. The date at the top identifies the current version. Where required, additional notice will be provided or permission requested before a material change takes effect.
