1 Developer and scope

Lindale is published by the independent developer identified in the Privacy Policy. References to “the developer” on this page mean that individual.

This page provides legal notices and general disclaimers relating to Lindale. Your licence to use the app is governed by the licence described below and by any mandatory rights that apply where you live.

2 Provided “as is”

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lindale is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

Nothing on this page excludes, restricts or modifies any warranty, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified under applicable consumer law.

3 Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss or damage, or for loss of data, arising from your use of or inability to use Lindale.

This includes interruptions, errors or losses caused by music servers, network connections, Apple Music, iCloud or other services outside the developer’s reasonable control. You are responsible for keeping appropriate backups of content and server data you value.

This limitation does not apply where liability cannot lawfully be limited or excluded, including where applicable in cases of fraud, wilful misconduct or liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

4 Your content, accounts and servers

Lindale does not host, supply, sell or distribute music. You are responsible for having permission to access and play content on the servers and accounts you connect, and for the operation, availability and security of servers under your control.

Apple Music content remains subject to your agreement with Apple and may require an active subscription. Lindale does not grant you any rights in content made available by Apple Music or by a connected music server.

5 Third-party services

Some Lindale features depend on services outside the developer’s control, including music servers, network connections, Apple Music, MusicKit, iCloud and the App Store. Their availability, terms, content and functionality may change independently of Lindale.

Lindale does not guarantee that a particular third-party service, server implementation or item of content will remain available or compatible indefinitely.

6 Trademarks

Apple, Apple Music, MusicKit, macOS, iOS, iPadOS, iCloud and App Store are trademarks of Apple Inc., registered in the U.S. and other countries. Lindale is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Apple Inc.

Other names and marks belong to their respective owners, including OpenSubsonic, Navidrome, Last.fm and ListenBrainz. The name Lindale is an independent work. It is inspired by, but not associated with or endorsed by, the Tolkien Estate.

7 Licence

When you obtain Lindale from the App Store, the app is licensed, not sold, to you. Unless another licence is presented with the app, your use of Lindale is governed by Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement.

This page provides additional notices and disclaimers. It does not replace rights or obligations under the governing licence or mandatory law. If a statement on this page conflicts with a right that cannot legally be excluded, that right takes precedence.

8 Third-party software

Lindale includes open-source software, including SFBAudioEngine (used under the MIT License) together with permissively licensed audio codecs such as FLAC, Opus, Vorbis and WavPack. The audio backend is built without any LGPL-licensed components. The complete third-party notices, with each component’s full licence text, are available in the app under Settings, in the Acknowledgements screen.

9 Changes

This page may be updated to reflect changes to Lindale, its licensing or applicable third-party services. The date at the top identifies the current version. Changes apply prospectively, and additional notice or consent will be provided where required.
